About Intensive Couples Therapy
Introducing a transformative approach to mending relationship issues...with speed!
Around 7 years ago, I began to question the effectiveness of traditional hour-long couples therapy sessions, scattered here and there with no real engagement from one side or the other. It seemed that just as couples reached pivotal moments of discussion, we were out of time, leaving them in a state of emotional upheaval. This unrest not only accompanied them home but lingered there, creating a palpable tension.
By the time these couples returned for their next session, it felt as though we were back at square one. Progress was elusive, compounded by the week spent ruminating over unresolved feelings from our last meeting.
Consequently, a significant chunk of our time had to be dedicated to re-establishing a sense of safety before we could even attempt to address their issues.
From this on, I developed an approach focusing on total engagement in the therapeutic process, with a set of coaching sessions limited in time and taking place twice a month. This to give momentum and impact to the therapeutic process, because most couples do not come for minor adjustments but in the throes of a crisis, require transformation and healing.
However, when possible, I do also suggest to work in a different, even more intensive, manner.
Embracing a new path...
This realization prompted me to introduce 2-days Intensive Couples Therapy sessions, many of whom were teetering on the edge of divorce, reeling from the discovery of an affair, or trapped in a cycle of endless arguments and emotional distance. Many had sought help from other therapists, only to be met with solutions that lacked efficacy and, at times, even compounded their issues.
Regardless of the circumstances that brought them to me, the transformative outcomes of these intensives were extremely profound.
The extended time of the 2-day intensives allows couples to thoroughly explore the rifts that have distanced them. Encouraged to communicate authentically, partners often lower their guards, enabling a level of listening and understanding that may have been missing for years.
The essence of these intensives lies in their uninterrupted nature—no deadlines, no external pressures, just focused, dedicated time to repair and nurture their bond, exploring necessary changes to enrich their connection.
For those uncertain about the future of their relationship, this format provides the space and time needed to carefully weight their options. Making a decision about whether to commit to or end a relationship is monumental, impacting not just the couple but their wider circle of influence.
Meet Myriam Ksikes
Certified Couples Therapist & Relationship Expert since 2009
Certified psycho-clinician, couple therapist and coach, I have been accompanying you with compassion for over 15 years, addressing various issues related to emotional management, self-image/self estime, stress, depression, grief and all relational difficulties within couples and families. Moreover, I also focus on supporting workplace distress, facilitating its expression and providing access to solutions.
Rather than focusing on "knowing why", I emphasize the "feeling how", which is a catalyst for lasting change. Through a holistic approach to your mental, physical, and spiritual self, within a trusting relationship, I support you in transforming and becoming aware of outdated patterns/beliefs to alter your relationship with others, your inner self, and life itself, allowing you to feel content and aligned on your own life path.

Thank you deeply for the transformative experience. In just two days, Seb and I achieved more than in several months of therapy. After discovering my wife's affair, I nearly ended our relationship. Despite months of individual therapy for me, things were getting worse and situation seemed to have gotten to a massive dead end, we were barely functioning.
In a final attempt, we consulted Myriam, tackling addiction, infidelity, and trust issues head-on. The focus on effective communication led to an incredible transformation. Not only did we avoid separation and divorce, but our relationship has been thriving ever since. We haven't even mentioned the word "divorce" again. Thanks to Myriam, we found a way to rebuild our lives together!
